Your truck already has a gooseneck hitch, but your 5th wheel trailer still uses a king pin. This conversion replaces the pin box with an air cushioned gooseneck coupler, so you can tow with the setup you already have without giving up ride quality.
The core of this Shocker Hitch coupler is the air bag. It changes the way your trailer moves. It takes the edge off when you hit the throttle, stop suddenly, or run into rough patches in the road. Instead of that shock and bounce transferring straight to the truck, it gets absorbed right at the hitch. Your trailer stays steady, and your truck doesn't feel like it's getting beat up every time the road gets rough.
With some couplers, you're never quite sure if they're secure. This Demco eZ-Latch coupler fixes that. Just drop it onto the ball and it latches itself. There are no extra steps involved, and you won't have to hang over the side of your truck straining to get a pin in. Once it's connected, you know it's going to stay put. And if you're leaving your trailer hooked up somewhere, the InfiniteRule lock (IR66FR - sold separately) keeps the latch from being opened so no one can pull up and take it.
Every trip puts a different load on your trailer. Water tanks, gear, and cargo all change how it rides. The built in air valve lets you adjust pressure in the air bag so the connection stays controlled. Add air when the trailer is fully loaded, then back it off when you are running lighter.
This kit replaces your factory 5th wheel pin box and mounts using the same bolt pattern, so theres no need to modify the trailer frame. Once installed, the connection shifts to a gooseneck ball in the bed, clearing out the space a traditional 5th wheel hitch takes up. Add the safety chain kit (SHK35MR - sold separately) to complete the gooseneck setup
Towing capacity is limited by the lowest rated component in your setup.
If you have a recessed gooseneck ball, there must be at least a 12" x 12" opening in your bed for this coupler to work. In addition, the top of the hitch ball cannot be more than 2" from the top of the bed.
Safety chains are needed to attach the mandatory safety chains for your rig. Use SHK35MR (sold separately) for best results.

Totally satisfied. This hitch makes my 41ft toy hauler ride as smooth as if it weren’t there. I had to add 30psi to the air adjust. Perfect! A bit more of an alignment challenge on tow hookup, but practice makes it a smooth operation. Installation was a breeze with just one person. 5 stars!
